Ending Procrastination – Get moving Now!


So where do we start? Well first let me just let you in on a
little secret! When you stop procrastinating and start getting
things done, you will start being more happy with yourself and
start telling yourself positive things that will boost your
self-esteem and self worth! The more you get done the easier it
will get and the more motivated you will be. There are two
things you can do right now to stop procrastination and boost
your self-esteem. I want you to make two lists. 

List 1: write down 10 things you have been putting off that you
know really needs to get done. 

List 2: write down the names of everyone you associate with on a
daily basis. You can also add to this list later to include
weekly, monthly, and occasional acquaintances.

With list one in your hand, what can you do right now and check
off that list? Go down the list until all 10 are done. Now you
may be asking yourself, what makes writing them down any
different then knowing them in my head? There are two reasons.
One is that when you finish an item on the list, I want you to
put a star next to the item and give yourself positive feedback.
Tell yourself how happy you are to finally get that done and
what a great job you are doing with improving your life. It may
sound corny and it might make you laugh but that will only make
you feel better! The second reason has more to do with the items
on the list. You now care about getting those things done. Those
stars and compliments to yourself and maybe even from others are
going to transform your life!

Take a look at list 2. Think about each name on that list and
how that person treats you. Are they a positive influence?
Negative? Supportive? Indifferent? Write short descriptions next
to each name. Now look at the list again. You want to be around
positive, supportive people and avoid the negative and maybe
even the indifferent one for now. 

Now you’re saying, “But I work with the most negative person on
my list! What do I do?”  Well by now I am sure you just ignore
most of what they say but your subconscious mind is still
hearing everything they are saying. I suggest actively listening
to them and confront them about anything negative towards you or
others. You probably won’t be able to change them but at the
very least you might make them mad and they will stop talking to
you. You might be able to move to a different area or you might
consider looking for a new job. Talking to your supervisor might
be a good step. 

The key is to stop receiving negative thoughts and attitudes.
Spend more time with the people that make you feel better. The
reason for writing the descriptions is when you read your list
and see them it will reinforce what you are trying to do.



By taking these steps you will start to take control of your
life. You will become important to the #1 person in your life
